Creating a custom pet portrait hoodie? Paws up, because it all starts with picking the paw-fect photo of your furry friend! This is your chance to show off your pet’s personality and turn them into an amazing piece of artwork. Here’s how to make sure your photo is perfect for your order! If you are looking to order as a gift for a dog / cat lover then try to source as many high quality / resolution photos as you can. We will remove all backgrounds from the photos prior to drawing.
1. Let Their Personality Shine!
Does your dog have the goofiest grin? Is your cat secretly a model with their sultry stares? Whether your rabbit’s a snuggly little loaf or your parrot’s rocking their best pose, pick a photo that screams, "This is me!" Bonus points for capturing those silly quirks that make your pet them.
2. Quality Over Quantity
Blurry photos and dim lighting lower the quality of the artwork once produced. You want your pet’s photo to be crystal clear and well-lit. Natural light works wonders (think sunny backyard or a cozy spot by the window). A high-resolution photo means every whisker, feather, or crazy hairstyle will shine on your hoodie.
3. Get Up Close and Personal
Those puppy-dog eyes? That boop-worthy nose? Make sure their face is front and centre! A close-up of your pet’s adorable mug is a surefire way to capture their charm. Remember: the eyes are the window to their soul—and your hoodie’s main attraction.
4. Keep It Simple, Silly
Choose the clearest photo you can find as these will come out with much more detail, a straight head shot will work well.
5. Action Shots? Yes, Please!
The photos don't have to be all headshots? A photo of your dog mid-fetch, your cat mid-pounce, or even your guinea pig mid-snack can add a playful vibe to your hoodie. Action shots bring your pet’s energy to life—because who doesn’t love a little extra flair? We can work with all different types of shot they just need to be clear to show as much detail as possible.
6. Take a Few (or a Lot)
Let’s be real: pets are not the most cooperative models (little bit of cheese goes a long way). Snap a bunch of photos from different angles, in different settings, and with different vibes. Can’t decide? email over as many photos as you like and we will let you know which one will come out best.
7. Final Woofs (or Meows!)
Picking the perfect pet photo is all about showing off the superstar you already know your pet is. Whether it’s their silliest, sassiest, or snuggliest moment, this is their time to shine. So grab your camera, bribe them with treats, and send over as many photos as you like.
